Would you like to make your lips look younger? It is a great way to frame and show off any dental services you’re getting, like professional teeth whitening. Improving your lips will make your overall smile look even more attractive—and make you feel more confident.
When you think of lip enhancement, you might only know about injections, fillers, or implants. That’s not what we offer. Injections are painful. And filler and implants can look unnatural. We want you to be comfortable at our family dentist office and to leave with natural, beautiful lips.
That’s why we offer laser lip enhancement. If you’re interested in aesthetic dentistry and facial aesthetics, contact our local dentist office in Issaquah today for a consultation. We’ll get to know you and your goals and make a plan to give you the smile of your dreams.
How Does Laser Lip Enhancement Work?
We’re excited about offering laser procedures, because they don’t cause pain or inconvenience. Other types of lip enhancers can put a patient out of commission for some time, unable to work or hold conversations. But laser lip treatments work differently, in these ways:
- It sends energy inside the tissue, stimulating the lips to naturally create more collagen, which makes skin firmer and lips plumper using the body’s own resources—without injections.
- No injections are needed.
- The laser doesn’t cause pain, only mild warmth.
- The laser does not remove or add any tissue or material—just stimulating effects to naturally boost your lip volume.
- The laser does not change your natural lip shape, instead bringing out the best aspects of your lips.
- No cuts are made.
- The procedure is finished quickly, within 5–15 minutes.
- It doesn’t cause any changes that would stop you from working, talking, smiling, or eating.
- It won’t cause bruises or allergic reactions
As your lips produce more collagen, your body could use this rejuvenating protein to treat lines and wrinkles around the lips and mouth, too. Call Dr. Vanama or our team at Discovery Dental to learn more or to set up a cosmetic consultation!

Do you need to prepare before your facial aesthetics appointment? Some procedures require you to make changes to your routine beforehand. But that’s not the case with laser lip enhancement.
This treatment only takes 5–15 minutes and does not require anesthetic or incisions. You don’t have to change anything in your lifestyle. The only preparation will be visiting the dental clinic in advance to discuss your goals and schedule the treatments that will help you. (We also provide cosmetic dentistry, such as veneers, teeth whitening, and porcelain crowns.)
During the treatment, be ready to relax for around 15 minutes with some protective glasses on—which your dental specialist will provide. You should feel comfortable with only a warmth, numbness, or tingling in the lips and nearby areas.
Your lips could feel dry or puffy afterwards. Vitamin E and chapstick can moisturize them, and you may notice that wrinkles have started to disappear, as well as your lips looking fuller.
How Many Procedures Are Needed?
It can take several appointments to achieve the effects that we expect. Once we reach your goal, your lips can look great for around six months. The lips are made of soft tissue, which is constantly being replaced by the body, so they keep developing and changing.
The results are different for each person, because each body uses up collagen at different rates. But a good guideline is to schedule an appointment for six months and come back to the dentist office to stimulate your lips again, releasing more collagen and making your lips look more youthful once again.
