What is Invisalign®?
Invisalign in Issaquah will transform your smile.
Invisalign straightens teeth using a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for your teeth. As you replace each aligner every two weeks, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week, gradually moving towards the projected final position.
Discovery Dental offers Invisalign for:
Ever Wondered How Invisalign® Works?
Your Issaquah Dentist Happily Shows You How Invisalign® Works
Invisalign® clear aligners are tailor-made just for you. The aligners are practically invisible and fit comfortably over your teeth.
Each custom aligner shifts your teeth marginally, moving them horizontally & vertically & even rotating them when necessary. Your aligners are designed to use just the right amount of force in the right place at the right time to create a gorgeously straight smile.
When you shift to the subsequent set of aligners (typically every week) your teeth progressively move into position, following a custom treatment plan mapped out by doctor Vanama.
Invisalign clear aligners are composed of proprietary, multilayer SmartTrack® material to gently shift your teeth into place.
How Does Invisalign Work?
Say “goodbye” to goopy impressions!
At Discovery Dental, we’re committed to investing in the latest technology to better our patients’ treatment experience. That’s why we’ve invested in the iTero Scanner. You’ll love this digital scanner:
The Invisalign Treatment Process
At your primary consultation, Dr. Vanama will discuss your goals and needs, and evaluate whether Invisalign treatment is the right choice for you.
Using an iTero® digital scanning system to create fast, precise 3D digital images of your teeth. Dr. Vanama will map out a precise treatment plan, including the exact movements of your teeth and how long your treatment will be. You’ll even get to see how your teeth will move and preview your new smile.
Your custom-made aligners will be made of a proprietary SmartTrack® material. They’re virtually invisible; most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them. For best results wear your Invisalign clear aligners 20 to 22 hours a day, taking them out only to eat, brush and floss.
As you wear each set of aligners, your teeth will smoothly and gradually shift into place. Dr. Vanama may recommend that you begin wearing a new set of aligners every week and schedule check-ups every six weeks or so. At every stage, you’ll be able to see your progress and imagine how far your new smile will take you.
When your treatment is complete, ask doctor Vanama about a Vivera® retainer. Vivera® retainers are custom-made using the same state-of-the-art technology as Invisalign clear aligners.
Is Invisalign® treatment suitable for you? For the preponderance of cases, the answer is yes. Invisalign® treatment is clinically proven to be useful for a broad range of teeth straightening cases, from mild to complex. Align technology is continuously innovating to expand that field and get even better results. Below are some well-known bite issues Dr. Vanama can treat with Invisalign clear aligners:
Gaps between teeth can occur with the continued abnormal growth of the jawbone. Missing teeth can also cause surrounding teeth to shift because of the extra space, creating gaps in your teeth. Spacing problems and gaps between teeth can lead to gum problems, periodontal pockets and increased risk of periodontal disease.
Overbite happens when the upper teeth extend over the lower teeth. It’s normally caused by genetics, bad oral habits, or overdevelopment of the bone that supports the teeth. This can lead to gum issues or irritation, and wear on the lower teeth, and can also cause painful jaw and joint problems.
Underbite can happen when the lower teeth distend past the front teeth. It’s normally caused by undergrowth of the upper jaw, or overgrowth of the lower jaw, and in some cases both. This can interrupt the normal function of front teeth or molars, which can cause tooth wear. It can also lead to painful jaw and joint problems.
Open bite is a condition when upper and lower teeth cannot make physical contact to achieve a proper bite. Generally caused by a genetic abnormal jaw structure or unnecessary thumb-sucking, an open bite can induce poor or painful chewing and in rare cases speech impairment. It can also lead to larger issues like temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ).
Teeth crowding occurs when there is a lack of room in your jaw for all of your teeth to fit comfortably. When left untreated, overly crowded teeth can worsen over time, and result in severely crooked teeth. This crowding can lead to the accumulation of plaque, tooth decay and a higher chance of gum disease.
Crossbite is when both the upper and lower jaws are misaligned. It causes one or more of the upper teeth to bite on the inside of the lower teeth. It can happen on both the front and the sides of the mouth. Crossbite can cause uneven wear of the teeth, gum disease and bone loss.
Getting Invisalign® Has Never Been So Affordable
Living With Invisalign Aligners
One of the greatest things about Invisalign® treatment is the insignificant impact it has on your everyday life because the aligners are so comfortable, you can easily wear them for the suggested 20 – 22 hours a day without much effort.
I decided to go ahead with Invisalign Treatment by Dr. Vanama. Dr. Vanama used the revolutionary technology “Propel Orthodontics.” Postoperative pain was tolerable, and I could sleep well overnight. The next day a follow-up call was made by Dr. Vanama to inquire about any concerns. I highly recommend Dr. Vanama for Invisalign treatment in particular and dental care in general.

The Invisalign® Advantage
Health Benefits of Straight Teeth
You might be surprised to discover that the advantages of having correctly aligned teeth reach far beyond a confident smile. According to the ADA, straightening your teeth can significantly affect your overall dental health. A perfect smile is a healthy one. With Invisalign®, having a confident smile and decreasing your risk of tooth decay and gum disease go hand-in-hand.
Healthier Teeth and Gums
Swollen, inflamed gums can often be the consequence of having teeth that are overcrowded or too widely spaced. Regrettably, these are also signs of periodontal disease. When teeth are correctly aligned, it helps the gums fit more securely around the teeth, allowing for the most powerful and healthiest defense against potential periodontal problems. That’s where Invisalign comes in. The comfortable, clear aligners gently and progressively begin to move your teeth into their proper position – without unsightly brackets and wires.
